Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Hello, wishing y’all a happy Tuesday!!<3
As you know, a new year is an opportunity to set new goals for the months ahead. Of course these goals will be tweaked throughout the year as things comes up or change, which makes the whole process much more intriguing for me.
For my bookish goals this year, I want to keep them simple and doable but a bit challenging to add on a little fun. I’ve divided them into two categories, one for reading goals while the second is for blogging goals.

First things first, I would like to try out more audiobooks. I’ve tried some earlier last year and it was an enjoyable experience that I’ve unfortunately stopped doing. That experience’ve made me discover that I prefer listening to nonfiction books over fiction books.
The main reason for that is that I’m quite a visual learner and when I’m reading fantasy for example, I have to see the words written to better imagine what’s happening. Listening can be tough because I feel like it takes so much energy and effort and I often lose track of where the story is going. When I’m listening to nonfiction on the other hand, I don’t seem to have that problem! It feels like I’m listening to a podcast and I actually find reading nonfiction a bit boring so it’s a win-win.
Going from the previous goal, I also want to try expanding my reading tastes by reading more nonfiction. The ones I’m liking at the moment are self-help and personal development books so if you have any recommendations, I’m all ears!!
Another genre I’m really struggling to get to is classics, I’m really hopeful that I would find a perfect book for me this year. Again, if you have any recommendations, please do let me know!
Catching up to a few series I’ve been wanting to read since what feels like FOREVER is another goal of mine. You can find the list here, but I think I’ll be adding to it as I stumble across ones I forgot to mention.
Numbers-wise, I set my GD reading challenge to 23 books. I’m anticipating this year to be quite hectic and busy, so 23 seems pretty reasonable.
Now, moving on to blogging goals I want to achieve this year.
First thing I want to do is a full rebrand, it’s actually something I’ve been working on for a while now and I’m equal parts excited and nervous about it. So stay tuned!
I also want to try out different post ideas, I usually post book reviews but I would like to branch out a bit and try some more discussion posts for example. In addition, posting consistently is something I wish to keep doing (twice a week is what I’m currently working with.)
The last thing I’m gonna work on is interacting and connecting more with other bloggers. This is something that I’ve been slacking off on during the last year because there was just so much happening in my life, but I’m hoping I can do better this year.
And those are my bookish goals for 2023! What about yours?! What are your reading aspirations? Any blogging goals you want to reach??
