Books that will keep you hooked #thrillers-edition

Hello everyone!! Hope y’all doing well!

Seeing as there’s a bit of extra free time these days (Unfortunately, I’m not included), I had this idea to make a list of names books that I think you would like reading, and as you can hear see from the title, it would be kinda like series of Cooking posts; the last first (this one) would be about Thrillers.

Please don’t feel free to comment down below any book(s) I may have missed!

Sometimes I lie

This one is a very very interesting book that I would highly recommend to anyone who haven’t tried it yet!!

I’ve read it last year, and I think I’m going to reread it this year too, because it’s just super worth it! The synopsis is quite bad magnificent and the book itself is a fantastic-wonderful-mind-blowing must read! It plays with your emotions, your head, and the ending is just breathtaking!

The silent patient

I’ve read this one just last last month (I mean in March :-)) and its effect is still lingering in my system. I wanted to know the WHY, the WHAT and the WHO, I had different theories during the whole book, so many different theories …..NONE of them was true!! The truth left mouth-gaping, breathless and feeling quite stupid for not paying more attention to the signs! The freaking signs were THERE the whole time and I was Too happy blind to see them! One thing for sure, you’ll be in for quite a ride!

The Girl On The Train

This one was adapted into a movie. I’ve read it last year and It was quite interesting.

Rachel goes on the same train every day, overlooking a row of back gardens. There’s a couple there that she always likes to watch, she calls them Jess and Jason. For her, they’re the perfect family, they have the perfect life, and she so wishes to have a life so happy and beautiful like them. One day, she saw something that shattered her idea of “the perfect couple” and she’s determined to find out more….

Rachel’s character is really complex. She’s obsessed with the couple on that house (which is unhealthy and unnerving ;having someone you don’t even know watching you and your life and how/where you live…), an alcoholic which was one of the main reasons she was fired, so she takes the train every morning and afternoon pretending that she’s going to work. It was an enjoyable read, the writing-style is quite beautiful, but I think the plot would have been better (?!); It was a little too predictable.

The Woman in the window

I haven’t read this one yet, but I keep hearing a lot about it (mostly good things) so I thought I should add it here. The synopsis I’m writing below is from Goodreads but I added little comments her and there 😉 .

It’s about Anna, who lives alone in her New York City home. She spends her time inside her home drinking (it reminds me of the girl on the train tbh), watching old movies, recalling happier times . . . and spying on her neighbors (tHe GiRl On ThE tRaIn) .

Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, a mother and their teenage son. The perfect family *whispering*Rachel. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn’t, her world begins to crumble and its shocking secrets are laid bare.

Pretty interesting, right? ……I’ll be probably/hopefully reading it this month so stay tuned for the review 😀 .

Sharp Objects

I have yet to read this one too but I’m really really exited to!! It’s seems like an interesting, creepy and mysteriously beautiful novel.

*from GoodReads* Fresh from a brief stay at a psych hospital, reporter Camille Preaker faces a troubling assignment: she must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. For years, Camille has hardly spoken to her neurotic, hypochondriac mother or to the half-sister she barely knows: a beautiful thirteen-year-old with an eerie grip on the town. Now, installed in her old bedroom in her family’s Victorian mansion, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims—a bit too strongly. Dogged by her own demons, she must unravel the psychological puzzle of her own past if she wants to get the story—and survive this homecoming.
