Hello, welcome or welcome back!!
As it’s 2023, I couldn’t help but see what books are being released AND I couldn’t be more happier with what I found!! There are sooo many awesome books to look forward to. However, I decided–for the sake of this post–to put a list of 15 books I’m MOST MOST anticipating.
They’re not put into any specific order (edit to say I actually accidently ordered them based on excpected publication date), but I did categorize them based on their genres; five for YA, five for thriller, and five for romance.
YA

The Stolen Heir (The Stolen Heir Duology #1) by Holly Black
Expected publication: January 3th
This is literally one that I’ve been waiting for for what feels like FOREVER!!! I can’t believe that the wait will be over soon and that I get to return to Elfhame and meet Oak and Suren.

Unseelie by Ivelisse Housman
Expected publication: January 3rd
A fantasy book with fairies and an autistic MC, need I say more?!??
I’m quite intrigued to read this one and meet Seelie and her twin Isolde.

These Infinite Threads (This Woven Kingdom #2) by Tahereh Mafi
Expected publication: February 7th
Now, I haven’t read This Woven Kingdom yet, but I HAVE read the Shatter Me series (haven’t finished it yet) and I reaally love the stories Tahereh waive. I’m hoping to start This Woven Kingdom trilogy (?!) after I finish the Shatter Me series, and what better to do that than this year?!

One of Us Is Back (One of Us Is Lying #3) by Karen M. McManus
Expected publication: July 25th
The One of Us Is Lying series is one that was on my to-read list for a long long time, I have officially decided that 2023 is the year I finally get to it and see if it’s worth the hype.

A Curse for True Love (Once Upon a Broken Heart #3) by Stephanie Garber
Expected publication: September 12th
I recently got Once Upon a Broken Heart and then, as I was scrolling, I stumbled across the author’s post where she reveals the cover for the upcoming book in this trilogy A Curse for True Love. So I took it as a sign to get to it asap.
Thriller

All the Dangerous Things by Stacy Willingham
Expected publication: January 10th
It’s been a while since I read a really compelling thriller, but this seems promising. It apparently follows the story of woman who have lost her child while she and her husband were sleeping just in the next room. The police have already turned the case cold since there aren’t any leads, but our MC wouldn’t rest until she finds her baby boy. From my understanding, going o this challenging journey will bring back somethings from the past, I think?

The House Guest by Hank Phillippi Ryan
Expected publication: February 7th
This is also one that I find to be quite intriguing. Alyssa is going through a tough divorce from her wealthy (and manipulative) soon-to-be-ex husband. She really needs a friend that will help her out, and that’s when Bree comes in the picture. She’s running away from a dangerous relationship herself and the two find solace in each other. Then, Bree suggests that they help solve each other’s problems. And that’s when things get pretty jumbled up.

What Have We Done by Alex Finlay
Expected publication: March 7th
I was originally hooked by the title of this one, doesn’t it make you wonder what happened? It sure did for me and, after reading the synopsis, I want to know more, I want to discover what happened. It kinds of reminds me of The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix, where a group of people that share some sort of similar past trauma are forced to reunite to protect themselves against someone who’s trying to kill them.

The Soulmate by Sally Hepworth
Expected publication: April 4th
Quite the beautiful cover we have here, don’t we?!
I’ve read two of Sally Hepworth’s books (The Family Next Door and The Mother-in-Law) last year and while they weren’t exactly favorites of mine, I thoroughly enjoyed her writing style and would love to read more from her.

The Long Way Back by Nicole Baart
Expected publication: June 13th
I know nothing about this other than its cover feels like it’s calling to me, sooo…
Romance
The Fraud Squad by Kyla Zhao
Expected publication: January 17th
I think I found out about The Fraud Squad from a post by the author on FB. She seems like a really nice person and her book is quite compelling; it has a HEIST!!

Things We Hide From the Light (Knockemout #2) by Lucy Score
Expected publication: February 21st
I’ve recently (as in mid-December) read the first book Things We Never Got Over, and I absolutely LOVED IT!! Highly recommend, it’s just the best thing ever!!
So OF COURSE I’m excited for the next installement!! I can’t wait to get it and read it and hopefully love it as much–or more than–as the first one.

Mother Knows Best by Stella Stevenson
Expected publication: February 28th
Stella Stevenson is an author that I just discovered in 2022 from her novel The Trope, and I instantly knew that whatever she’s writing, I need to read. If you haven’t read The Trope yet, I highly advise you to do so asap (if you’re a romance fan)!!
My review of The Trope is here.

King of Pride (Kings of Sin #2) by Ana Huang
Expected publication: April 27th
Have you read The Twisted series by Ana Huang?!?? If you didn’t, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?? This is your sign to pick them up asap, they’re wholesome, intense *wink wink nudge nudge*, and very addicting. If you don’t want to start with them–Twisted–series, try King of Wrath, the first book in the The Kings of Sin series. I’m pretty sure you won’t regret it.

Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood
Expected publication: June 13th
Even though I think that Ali Hazelwood’s characters (in The Love Hypothesis) are quite childish for what I think they “should” be. I absolutely adored reading it, and I can’t wait to binge read all her books because they’re quite *chef’s kiss*!
What about you?! What are the books you’re looking forward to this year? I would love to know!
